“Wine has been part of our heritage for more than 4 centuries. Inspired by this tradition, Mangiacane seeks to offer “terroir” driven Chianti Classico wines, based on the Sangiovese grapes hand picked exclusively from the Estate’s vineyards, with an elegant and supple style, yet intense and long lived. The Estate’s 500 acres straddle the territories of San Casciano and Greve in Chianti, between 250 and 300 meters. Diverse soils, poor and rocky in Greve while deep and wetter in San Casciano, coupled with the vineyards’ different planting densities and exposures produce several microclimates and guarantee our wine’s complexity and distinct personality. At Mangiacane we have chosen to invest in research and innovation focused upon traditional local grape varieties, which make up the backbone of our wines. Carefully crafted for a sophisticated taster, they are available only in the amounts permitted by each vintage.” |
